Plant Profile:Cinnamon Fern
Osmunda cinnamomea

Cinnamon Fern is an impressive upright deciduous native fern that can reach upwards of 4-5 feet in height. Given its name because of the cinnamon-colored fertile fronds that arise from the center, it makes a regal statement in the shade garden.

Plant Cinnamon Fern in partial to full shade in moist to wet soil. It will tolerate drier soils but will be smaller in height. It makes a great companion to Hostas, Foam Flower and other smaller ferns.
